My Fit Pregnancy 12.5 Weeks

I am almost finished with my first trimester!!  My baby is healthy and we are both doing awesome.  I had my second doctors appointment on Tuesday, 11/15/14.  It was a quick appointment, which was nice and I got to have another ultrasound.  The baby has changed so much.  It went from looking like a little jelly bean to looking like the cutest little baby! This week my baby is about the size of a plum.  I was able to see my baby kicking, moving it’s little arms and arching it’s back.  wk12_lg

Possibly I may find out the baby’s gender at my next appointment!

I can’t wait to find out if we are having a boy or a girl.  My doctor (Dr. Fine) said it is possible he might be able to tell at my next doctors appointment if our baby is a boy or girl, but if not the next one, then for sure the following one.  I am hoping I will know at the next one because it will be right before Christmas and I wanted to do a fun gender reveal with my family.

Why do I breathe so hard during my workouts?

One question I had for my doctor was, why do I get so out of breath when I am working out?  He explained, when you are pregnant your blood is pumping blood through your body twice  as quickly as it normally does.  This makes your lungs become like a wet sponge instead of a dry sponge, which makes it harder to get oxygen during workouts.  I was glad to find out this was normal because lately even when demonstrating exercises I feel very out of breath, lol.  Don’t worry, the baby always takes what it needs both oxygen and nutrients wise before I get mine.  This insures the baby will get just what it needs.

I try to workout at least 5 days a week.

I have continued working out 5-6 days a week and feel great.  I am lucky I have had zero morning sickness and I am hoping I will not have any at all.  This next week will be exciting, as I will be starting my second trimester.  I can’t believe in just 6 months we will have our little baby!!  I am so excited.
